After the railway getting high speed, it brings many safety problems for fi：eight trains. The paper introduces a video surveillance system, the focus is its architecture and platform software. The system has the functions such as real-time preview, retrieval and playback, electronic map and uploading evidence, it can show the whole process of safety accidents for locomotive depot and make SS4 electric locomotive keep pace with the development of times. The system has been used in Taiyuan locomotive depot and achieves good results.
