The Excavation of the Stone Cist Burials at Sikai Township in Zhaojue County, Sichuan

昭觉县四开乡地处大凉山腹地，位于四开坝子北部、307省道沿线，古代文化遗存十分丰富（图一）。2005年以来，我们在四开乡进行了多年度考古调查。在历年工作的基础上，2011年春季和秋季，对整个四开坝子开展了区域系统调查，新发现好谷村普拉波石棺墓地，

In the spring and autumn of 2011, the stone cist burials in Geze Yangpeng and Pulabo Sites were excavated, from which pottery wares, stone implements, iron objects and ornaments made of organic materials were unearthed. The date of Geze Yangpeng Site was 2050-1670 BC and that of Pulabo Site was roughly from the late Warring-States Period to the early Western Han Dynasty. Geze Yangpeng cemetery yielded a set of precise 14C data showing its early date, and this site had distinct cultural characteristics, which provided important materials for the explorations on the origins of the stone cist burials in southwestern China, the dates of their popularity and their cultural characteristics and other issues.
