作为五代时闽国文坛能够和韩、黄滔并驾齐驱的诗人,徐寅并未引起今日学界的关注,其原因很可能和清乾隆时四库馆臣对徐寅人品、文品的非议有关。四库馆臣认为徐寅对唐王朝的忠诚是值得怀疑的,又认为徐寅诗文成就在罗隐、司空图、黄滔之下。考察实际情况后可知,四库馆臣的这两个观点都是靠不住的。徐寅应该得到今人更多的关注和研究。

XU Yin is an important poet equivalent to Han Wo and Huang Tao in Min-Province during the 9th century and the 10th century. However, In terms of his moral quality and writing style, XU Yin has always been criticized and ignored among ministers of the imperial library in Qing Dynasty. In fact, the views on XU Yin＇s moral quality and writing style are misunderstood. Therefore, he is supposed to be paid more attention to study and research.
