Lu Xun once wrote in his book,“There is no road on the ground. The more people walk, the road it becomes.” The Silk Road is a cultural road across Asian and European continents. It played an irre-placeable role in the national and foreign relationship in Chinese history. There is a long-standing debate on the starting point of the Silk Road about whether it was Chang'an or Luoyang. With the development of re-search and the world cultural heritage application, it is officially recognized that Luoyang is the east start point of the Silk Road. However, there is still some different opinion in academic world. This paper pro-vides examples to illustrate Luoyang's east staring point from ancient literature, unearthed epitaph and ancient artifacts. The first part is a general overview of the Silk Road and the theoretic and realistic signifi-cance. The second part is an introduction to the historic and cultural position of Luoyang, as well as the practical significance of “Summit on Protection of Big Historic Sites”. The third part studies the ancient lit-erature, unearthed epitaph and scripts and ancient artifacts, thus illustrating that Luoyang is undoubtedly the east starting point of the Silk Road.
