全球价值链嵌入、制度质量与产业国际竞争力——基于贸易增加值视角的跨国面板数据分析

Global Value Chain,Institutional Quality and International Competitiveness:A Transnational Panel Data Analysis Based on Trade in Value-added

本文从全球价值链视角,根据融入增加值贸易的显示性比较优势及显示性竞争优势两个指标,对各国制造业国际竞争力进行测算,并检验全球价值链嵌入度、制度质量对其的影响,用门槛回归模型考察制度质量在全球价值链嵌入度和国际竞争力关系中的作用机制。研究发现:全球价值链嵌入度对制造业国际竞争力存在显著正影响,参与全球价值链越深的国家,制造业国际竞争力越高;制度质量对制造业国际竞争力也存在显著正影响,较高的制度质量有利于一国制造业国际竞争力提升;门槛回归结果显示制度质量存在显著的门槛效应,制度质量越过门槛值之后,全球价值链嵌入度对制造业国际竞争力的提升作用下降,这说明参与全球价值链对制度质量较低国家的制造业国际竞争力提升作用更加明显,也更为重要。

From perspective of global value chain,we used two indexes RCA-Value Added and CA to measure 58countries'international competitiveness,and explored the threshold effect of institution quality in the relationship between global value chain embeddedness and international competitiveness through Hansen threshold regression.The result suggests that:(1)GVC-Participation has a significantly positive impact on international competitiveness;it means that if one country embeds into global value chain deeper,it will have a higher international competitiveness.(2)Institutional quality also has a significantly positive impact on international competitiveness,that is to say,a high level of institutional quality can improve the international competitiveness of its manufacturing industries.(3)Furthermore,there are significant threshold effects of institutional quality.After institutional quality exceeds the threshold level,the improvement of international competitiveness by GVC-Participation will diminish.This means that GVC participation improves international competitiveness more significantly for lower institutional quality countries,and GVC participations are more important to these countries.
