LIU Yuanlu's Experience in Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis

膝骨性关节炎是临床常见病、多发病,在中医学中属于痹证范畴。刘元禄教授长期从事骨伤科疾病的临床与科研工作,对本病有着独到的见解。其认为本病的发生发展不外乎内因外因和标本虚实,与肝脾肾亏虚,风寒湿邪侵袭,瘀血阻络有着密切的联系。临床诊疗时应抓住"膝为筋之府"的生理特点,并结合本病的病理特点,辨明证型,顾护脾胃,辨证用药,合理组方,内外兼治,中西并重,方能取得良效。

Knee osteoarthritis is one of the common and frequent- occurring clinical diseases,attributable to arthralgia syndrome in traditional Chinese medicine. Professor LIU Yuanlu has been engaged in the researches and clinical work of orthopedics diseases and has insightful views of this aspect. He believes that the occurrence and development of this disease are nothing more than internal and external contradiction and the root cause and symptoms of a disease,being closely associated with deficiency of liver,spleen,kidney and exogenous pathogenic wind,cold,dampness and blood- stasis obstruction. Clinically,we could obtain good results because of combining the physiological character- knee is the gather of tendons with pathological characters,distinguishing syndromes,protecting spleen and stomach,usage of herbs based on syndrome differentiation,rational prescription,internal and external application,combining Chinese and Western methods.
