On the Social Dimension of The General Purpose Normalized List of Chinese Characters

本文从收字的覆盖面、分级定量的考量方法、增加专门用字以提高字表的社会适用性等方面阐释了《通用规范汉字表》的社会性,通过剖析《通用规范汉字表》在具体收字方面所采取的有针对性的处理方式,体现其对基础教育、辞书编纂、中文信息处理等领域的社会适用性。

This article explains the social dimension of The General Purpose Normalized List of Chinese Characters from the perspectives of words coverage,classification and quantitative methods,and increase of specially used characters for better social applications.With the analyses of the measures in word collections,the paper discusses the social applicability of the List in basic education,dictionary compiling and Chinese information processing.
