井伯、百里奚为一人辨

Jing Bo and Baili Xi is the Same Person: An Identification

井伯是春秋时虞国的大夫。《左传·僖公五年》载晋献公假道以灭虢之事云:"师还,馆于虞。遂袭虞,灭之。执虞公及其大夫井伯,以媵秦穆姬。"自古迄今,关于井伯与百里奚是否为同一人的争论从未停止,聚讼莫一,疑异丛生,实有待发覆者。笔者拟于此戋戋小文再作申说,冀可有所献替。

Jing Bo is a a senior official in feudal China of Yu State in Spring and Autumn Period. The earliest record about him can be seen in Zuo Zhuan. Argument on the identity of Jing Bo and Baili Xi has not been stopped since the ancient times. In this study, by analyzing the historical literature, the author makes sure that Jing Bo and Baili Xi is the same person.
