语气隐喻视角下《奥赛罗》语言的性别差异研究

Gender Differences of Language Use in Othello from the Perspective of Mood Metaphor

莎剧中,男女角色的语言差异不仅体现在话题、话语量、打断、措辞方面,在语气的一致、隐喻表达上也有一定区别。与男性相比,女性使用语气隐喻较频繁灵活,且男性一般使用语气隐喻增强语气,显示权力与地位,而女性擅长使用语气隐喻舒缓语气、拉近谈话距离;男性和女性均使用语气隐喻控制对话节奏,男性以争夺决定权为目的,女性则以促成对话为目的。

Gender differences of language use in Shakespeare＇ s plays are not only reflected by topic, amount of talks, interruption and wording, but also reflected by congruent and incongruent mood expressions. Compared to men, women use mood metaphors more fre- quently and flexibly. Men use mood metaphors mainly for mood enhancement and power display, while women use mood metaphors to sooth their mood and to narrow the distance between the hearer; both men and women use mood metaphors to control the process of dia- logue, however, the purpose of it, for men, is to seize the right to decide, for women, is to get conversation going.
