With the increase of the ship oil leakage accident, the ship with oil recovery system became more and more popular. Classification of oil recovery systems and their respective merits and demerits were introduced and compared. Taking one environment protecting ship as an example, the paper presented configuration and components of oil recovery system and the procedure of oil recovery and summarized the requirements to be fulfilled and special measures to be taken during the design.
