加的夫语法对悉尼语法“级阶”的弱化

A Cardiff Grammar View on Sydney Grammar Rank Scale Hypothesis

系统功能语言学认为语言的构成是多层次的。在系统功能语言学内部,悉尼语法研究者持有强"级阶说",而加的夫语法在描述句法时主要考虑的是语言的功能,而不是语言的形式,所以加的夫语法在进行句法分析时对韩礼德的强"级阶"说进行了弱化处理。对级阶概念的弱化是加的夫句法理论的核心思想之一,也是加的夫语法与悉尼语法的主要不同点之一。

The systemic functional linguists hold the view that language structure components are multi-level. The Sydney Grammar favors a strong rank scale hypothesis, while the Cardiff Grammar pays much attention to the language functions not merely to the language form. Therefore, Cardiff Grammar favors a weaker rank scale hypothesis, which is one of the differences between Cardiff Grammar and Sydney Grammar.
