张慎言是明代末期山西文坛的一位重要人物,经历了万历、泰昌、天启、崇祯四个时期,政治生涯可谓跌宕起伏。他一生交游甚广,且多与当时引领文坛的名人大家交游酬唱,如钟惺、钱谦益等。

Zhang Shenyan is one of the late Ming Dynasty writer in Shanxi Province. He lived through the Wanli, Ta- ichang, Tianqi, Chongzhen four periods, the political life is ups and downs. He has a lot of friends all life, and made friends with famous people who leading the literary world, for example Zhong Xing. 0Jan Oianvi and so on.
