唐宋时期太湖禅宗发展概述

On the Development of Zen in Taihu during the Tang and Song Dynasties

佛教文化于晋代就已传入太湖。自二祖慧可来到太湖,禅宗就在这里生根发芽,直至发展壮大,并且形成具有中华特色的禅文化。唐宋时期,由于政府支持和周边民众的布施,太湖地区佛教发展比较兴盛。禅宗在太湖的传播和发展对当时的社会产生了极大影响。

Buddhist culture was introduced into Taihu in the Jin dynasty. Ever since Huike, the second generation of Zen ancestor, came to Taihu, Zen has been growing and developing well here and formed Zen culture with Chinese characteristics. In the Tang and Song dynasties, Buddhism was prosperous in Taihu due to the support from the government and the common people. The dissemination and development of Zen there had a great influence on society at that time.
