The basic structure, the fin type and the heat transfer mechanism of the plate-hn heat exchanger is elaborated, followed by the discussion of its development history and direction in respect of the brazing technology, the new-material development and the computer-aided system. Moreover, its application in the complex process of the multi-stream heat exchanging as well as the development potential in the field of the new energy resources is briefly introduced.
