奥克肖特、庄子与“中国问题”——从奥克肖特文本中的几处引文谈起

Oakeshott,Zhuang-Tzu and“the Problem of China”—On the Quotations from Zhuang-Tzu in Oakeshott' s Writings

在其洋洋洒洒的政治哲学著述中,奥克肖特多次引用中国古代典籍特别是《庄子》中的生动故事,以配合其分析诊断现代西方政治的病理。本文拈出奥克肖特文本中对《庄子》的几处引用,在重温和领略中国经典穿越时空的力道之同时,试图以现代性语境中"中国问题"的疏解为目标,通过对思想界几种理论主张的解析以及对中国发展道路的理性诠释,在古与今、中与西的比较互鉴中,寻求中国政治抵近传统、中道平和的可能方向。

In his profound writings of political philosophy, Oakeshott cited the ancient classics of China especially ＂Chuang Tzu＂ many times while he considered the pathology of modern western politics. This article intends to discuss a few quotations from Zhuang-Tzu in Oakeshott＇s writings, on one hand to understand Oakeshott and Chuang Tzu more thoroughly, on the other had, it is more important to help con- front ＂the problem of China＂ in the context of modernity. Through analyzing current trends of domestic political thoughts and backtracking the political tradition of China in the past, present and future, this ar- ticle points out that a moderate and balanced ＂Chinese Way＂ is worth pursuing in mutual comparison and interpretation between China and Western, or between tradition and modernity.
