As one of the major leaders of CPC in the early period, Qu Qiu-bai is not only an excellent Marxist theorist and propagandist, but an outstanding editor. He regards editorial activities as part of his life, and his editorial practice reveals distinctive spirit of the Party in many aspects. He insists on the intro- duction, broadcasting and research of Marxism, and makes them the basic tasks of his editorial activity. He propagandizes the guideline, policy and plans of the Party, and consciously accepts the guidance of the Party in editing. He endeavors to make editing the propeller for the combination of Marxism and real situa- tion of China. His editorial activities reflect the pursuits of the mass, and he is modest enough to listen to opinions of the mass. The spirit of the Party in his editorial practice provides an example for the progress of editing in modern times.
