谭恩美和沃克短篇小说“母与女”母题的对比分析

On the Motif of Mother and Daughter from Cross-cultural Point of View

华裔美国女作家谭恩美的短篇小说《游戏规则》和非裔美国女作家艾丽丝·沃克的短篇小说《日常用品》都围绕"母与女"母题展开,两篇短篇小说中母女对待彼此的不同态度,反映了华裔母女以及非裔母女对文化差异的不同态度。通过反思边缘族裔女性的文化立场,探讨其内在的身份分裂、内在的传承与外在的生存压力,挖掘其中隐含的对主流文化霸权的不同态度和处理方式,可寻求母与女关系的更多可能性,进而建立新的关系、新的话语体系。

Both＂The Rules of Game＂,the short story by Chinese American writer Amy Tan,and＂Everyday Use＂,the short story by African American writer Alice Walker,are carry out with the motif of＂mother and daughter＂. They are coherent with the idea proposed by French feminist and philosopher Lucy Irigaray,accenting the connection between mother and daughter which should follow intersubjectivity principle. By analyzing different attitude of mother and daughter towards each other,and their different views towards culture difference,we get to the reflection of culture stance of minority American women,the exploration of their identity crisis,and the insight of their culture inheritance and living pressure. At the same time,under the motif of mother and daughter,we can see their different attitude and solutions to the dominance of main stream culture. Further,we could have multiple possibilities for mother and daughter,setting up new connection and new discourse system.
