On Fang Ping's Translation of The Merchant of Venice from the Perspective of Lefevere's Manipulation Theory

勒菲弗尔操纵理论是翻译研究文化学派的重要理论,对文学翻译具有指导性意义。意识形态、主流诗学和赞助力量是该翻译理论的三大要素。方平在译文体裁、语言风格、读者群、具体的翻译手段等方面的处理,主要受到了我国当时的社会意识形态和主流诗学观的制约与操控;而方平在译文文体、翻译策略等方面进行的意识性、目的性选择与操作,则是对其译者主体性的张扬。

As one of the important theories of translation studies,the Lefevere＇s Manipulation Theory is of guidance significance to literary translation. Ideology,dominant poetics and patronage are three main factors of translation theory. Based on the manipulation theory,Fang Ping＇s translation of The Merchant of Venice was manipulated by the social ideology and dominant poetics in China at that time,mainly reflecting in the selection of translation materials,translation style,translation strategy,ideology and translator subjectivity.
