＂The Event of Department of Philosophy at Taiwan University＂ occurred under very complex background, and this event was intervened by Kuomintang political administration system. But this event in essence reflected a new generation of intellectuals＇ enlightenment and political democratic consciousness after Diaoyutai Movement following that of Lei Zhen, Yin Haiguang and Li Ao, which contradicted with the thought control by the Taiwan authorities. This event provides a very good case to understand the intellectuals＇ living conditions in Taiwan in the martial-law period.
