Social Participation Impacts on the Life Satisfaction of the Elderly

采用2014年中国老年社会追踪调查(CLASS)数据,利用ordinal logistic回归分析方法分析了老年人社会参与对其生活满意度的影响。使用老年人志愿参与、劳动参与和政治参与衡量老年人的社会参与。研究发现:在没有控制变量的情况下,三者均对老年人生活满意度产生显著的积极影响;但当模型完善后,政治参与的显著影响消失。

In this paper, it analyzes the influence of social participation on life satisfaction by ordinal logistic regression based on the data of the China Longitudinal Aging Social Survey （CLASS） in 2014. The article uses volunteer participation, labor force participation and political participation to measure the elderly social participation, and finds that those three variables have a significantly positive impact on life satisfaction for the elderly while the control variables are absent. However, the significant effect from political participation on life satisfaction will disappear after improving the model.
