摘要
书面正式语体是指正式体与庄典体语体特征在书面语中的表现。书面正式语体能力对二语学习者的写作能力和语言交际能力的发展都具有重要作用。本文以不同语言水平的欧美留学生59000字的写作文本为对象,以4个正式体语体特征与2个庄典体语体特征为变量,考察其书面正式语体能力的发展路径,并与母语者文本进行对比。结果发现除正式体特征中的词汇复杂性与合偶双音词数量基本随着语言水平的提升呈线性上升,正式体其他变量与庄典体各变量的发展都表现出与语言能力发展阶段一定程度的不匹配,且都与母语者存在显著差异,由此从宏观与微观两个角度提出了教学干预的建议。
Formal style in Chinese written register refers to the degree of formality and elegance in written language. This paper is aimed at exploring American and European CSL learners ' development of formal style in Chinese written register by analyzing six features in 120 compositions and by comparing them with those of native Chinese speakers. Statistics from the study indicate that along with the improvement of Chinese proficiency, the complexity of vocabulary and the number of disyllabic words within a PrWd couplet increase linearly while the development of the other elegance-formality features lag behind. There is still a huge discrepancy between the learners and native Chinese speakers regarding the formal style features. This paper discusses pedagogical implications of the findings.
