Echocardiographic evaluation of patent foramen ovale and its treatment research progress

近年来的一些研究表明,不明原因脑血管病的发生与卵圆孔未闭(patent foramen ovale,PFO)有关。超声心动图是诊断PFO的首选方法,右心声学造影对诊断PFO有较高的敏感性和特异性。PFO封堵术和药物治疗对预防不明原因脑血管病复发的效果上一直存在争议。本文将对PFO的超声评估和治疗的研究进展做一综述。

Recent studies show that patent foramen ovale （PFO） is associated with eryptogenic cerebrovascular events. Con- trast echocardiography is the prefered method for PFO diagnosis with relatively high sensitivity and specificity. It is disputed whether PFO closure is beneficial in the prevention of recurrent cryptogenic cerebrovascular events. This article is to summarize the research progress of PFO diagnosis and treatment.
