Promoting Inclusive Growth through Strengthening Global Trade and Investment Cooperation

以世界贸易组织(WTO)为中心的多边贸易体系是推动国际贸易谈判的主要动力。二十国集团(G20)作为一个全球治理的平台,通过加强合作与协调,以促进WTO为中心的多边协调机制的发展。多哈回合谈判停滞不前,区域贸易协定发展却方兴未艾,如何促进多边贸易体制和区域一体化融合发展是G20全球治理的一个挑战。促进全球贸易增长、支持多边贸易体制发展,以及推动全球投资便利化与投资促进等,是二十国集团智库(T20)支持G20贸易投资发展机制的有效途径。

The multilateral trading system(MTS), the WTO in particular, is the major force pushinginternational trade negotiation. The G20, as a platform of global governance, can promote thedevelopment of multilateral coordination mechanism through strengthening of cooperation andcoordination. The Doha Round negotiation has stagnated, but regional trade negotiations havefared smoothly. How to promote the coherence of MTS and regional integration has become achallenge for the G20 as it tries to improve global governance. The T20 can effectively supportthe mechanism of G20 trade and investment development through re-energizing global tradegrowth, consolidating the MTS, and strengthening global investment facilitation and investmentpromotion.
