A New Elucidation of the Legal Documents in Chu State Bamboo Slips Unearthed From Baoshan

包山竹简中有一些战国时代楚国的法律文书,是研究先秦历史的珍贵资料。题名《集著》的文书是有关人口登记的汇集,题名《集著言》的文书是关于名籍的诉讼文书,简151、152记录了一件与土地所有权有关的案件,文中涉及的人物是"王士",即国士。

Among the bamboo slips unearthed from Baoshan there are some legal documents of the Chu State in the Warring States Period. This is a batch of valuable data for studying the history of the pre-Qin times. Among them those with the title ＂Ji Zhu 集著＂ are collected documents on population registration; those titled ＂Ji Zhu Yan集著言＂ are documents on name litigation, and Slips 151 and 152 are records on a case concerned with land ownership.
