“岭南”的建构及其意义

The Construction of "Lingnan" and Its Meanings

从"百越"这样的"以人名地"概念到"岭南"这样的"以地名地"概念,又从他者与我者对"岭南"一词的不同看法,到屈大均以"广东"替代"岭南"的主张,最后到清代以"岭南"专指广东,"岭南"这个概念的意义在历史上是被不断建构、不断变化的。这个过程的背后,是帝国扩展、区域开发、地方文化发展、我者与他者的互动,以及观念的变化。

From naming a place with the people living there such as uBaiyue,9 to naming a place with its geographical feature such as “ Lingnan”,from various interpreting of the word “ Lingnan” by insiders and outsiders to Qu Dajun’s use of “ Guangdong” instead of “ Lingnan” ,and finally to “ Lingnan” as a term for Guangdong in Qing dynasty, the meaning of the term “ Lingnan” has been repeatedly constructed and was always changing. Behind this process, there were the expansion of the empire, regional development, local cultural growth, interactions between insiders and outsiders and the changes of ideas.
