Chinese children＇s literature writer Cao Wenxuan won the 2016 Hans Christian Andersen Award at the Bologna Children＇s Book Fair in Italy. This is the first time that a Chinese has been awarded the equivalent of ＂Nobel Prize for children＇s literature＂. Cao Wenxuan stressed the importance of the inspiration and strength that he derived from his motherland, saying that ＂I have China to back me up＂.
