The Report of the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has given clear instructions for the development of higher education,emphasizing the importance of higher education connotation development. As an important part of colleges and universities,agricultural and forestry colleges＇ connotative development not only becomes a fundamental requirement to adhere to the scientific development idea,but also the realistic need to solve a series of problems in their denotative development. Local agricultural and forestry colleges and universities should make the most of their own advantages,seize the opportunities in the process of development,take the connotative development path of deepening the reform of education,highlighting the school characteristics,strengthening the construction of teachers team,and actively expanding the external space of development.
