元音格局的研究方法在汉语方言研究中的运用已较为普遍。元音格局方法特有的内涵及意义使其具有很强的可操作性,在元音音位的归纳、音质的描写、元音的性质等诸多方面都具有优势,在大规模汉语方言元音系统研究以及方言元音接触研究中都取得了瞩目的研究成果。

This paper discusses the application of the research method of the vowels pattern in the study of Chinese dialects and the results of the study. Including the connotation and significance of the vowel pattern method; the function of vowels pat- tern in many aspects of the vowel phoneme and quality description and the vowel nature the results of study of the large- scale Chinese dialect vowel system research and dialectal contact.
