班固《离骚经章句序》与《离骚赞序》不能并时而作辨

Debate on the Impossibility for Ban Gu to write Preface to Commentaries on Li Sao and Preface to Li Sao Zan at the Same Time

班固《离骚赞序》对《离骚》及屈原单纯为赞美态度,而《离骚经章句序》中则有批评。详考《离骚经章句序》,其中除批评屈原一面外,尚有褒扬其忠贞思想一面。《离骚经章句序》在观点上对《离骚赞序》实际上具有包容性,他们之间并非是矛盾的。凭两序差异断二者非同时之作的诸理由都难以讲通。因此,两序完全具有同时而作的可能性。

In Preface to Li Sao Zan（《 离骚赞序 》）, Ban Gu only gave high praise to Li Sao and Qu Yuan. But in Preface to Commentaries on Li Sao（《离骚经章句序 》）, he seemed critical of them. In fact, there were both praise and criticism in Preface to Commentaries on Li Sao. Therefore, there was no contradiction between these two prefaces： the latter included the former. So,using the difference between these two prefaces to prove they were written in different time is not persuasive. Accordingly, there was strong possibility for Ban Gu to write the two prefaces at the same time.
