杨宪益英译《红楼梦》研究现状与启示——基于中国知网文献数据库的分析

Retrospective Studies of Yang Hsien-yi's Translating A Dream of Red Mansions and Enlightenments Involved: Based on CNKI Data Bank

杨宪益英译的《红楼梦》被吴世昌誉为"几个英译本中最完备最正确的译本",是红学界、翻译界的重要研究对象。基于对中国知网文献数据库千余篇文献的阅读与分析,我们发现,《红楼梦》杨宪益译本的研究主要集中在文化研究、文本研究与批评研究三个方面,虽然研究成果丰硕,却存在着研究方法单一、剖析不够深刻、选题重复甚至思路雷同等问题。杨译本不仅仅在翻译学研究领域具有价值,在语言学、社会学、文化学中也有重要价值。

As a significant English translation, Yang Hsien-yi＇s A Dream of Red Mansions was highly praised for among all existing versions. Based on analyzing academic papers from CNKI and monographs on the relevant topic, the authors attempt to describe studies of Yang Hsien-yi＇s A Dream of Red Mansions in the past thirty years. Upon retrospective studies of Yang＇s translating, this paper aims to explore the potentialities of the very study and the possible enlightenments on translating and transmitting Chinese classical works to the world in the historical context of constructing Chinese image..
