[Purpose/significance]The paper is to discuss how university library to fully exert its social functions and promote de- velopment of library undertaking by providing cultural and leisure services. [Method/process]The paper demonstrates the necessity of constructing information commons-based coffee bar in university library and developing cultural and leisure service, and elaborates construction model of the coffee bar from aspects of design, management and operation. [Result/conclusion]Constructing coffee bar in university library contributes to attract more readers, cultivate their loyalty to the library, and become the library into common spiritual homeland of teachers and students.
