摘要
为了解医学院校大学生和公共英语教师掌握中国文化和翻译中国文化词汇的能力,特选取山东省内5所医学院校共857名医学生和60名公共英语教师进行问卷调查。结果表明:受试者掌握中国文化情况不佳,翻译中国文化词汇的能力也有待提高;大部分受试者对在大学英语教学中加入中国文化持积极态度;仅有8%的受试医学生具有学习中国文化的动机。"中国文化失语"现象在医学院校英语教学中普遍存在。导致这种现象的原因是多方面的,既有教育理念、教育目标、教材、大纲等外在原因,也有教师、学生等内在原因。学生缺乏学习中国文化的学习动机是最根本的内在原因。要消除英语教学中的"中国文化失语"现象,需要社会、教师、学生等各方面的通力合作。更重要的是,需要激发和强化医学生学习中国文化的动机。
To investigate their mastery of Chinese culture and ability in translating Chinese culture vocab- ulary,857 medical college students and 60 college English teachers were chosen from 5 medical colleges in Shandong Province to carry out the questionnaires. The results revealed that the informants had a poor com- mand of Chinese culture, and their ability in translating Chinese culture vocabulary also needed improving. Besides, only 8% informants had the learning motivation to learn Chinese culture. In addition, most inform- ants held active attitudes to integrating Chinese culture into college English teaching. The phenomenon of "Chinese culture aphasia" is widespread in medical colleges and universities' English teaching. Many causes account for the phenomenon, including not only external causes such as education philosophy, education ob- jectives ,teaching materials, and education syllabus, but also internal causes such as teachers and students, a- mong which, the absence of medical college students' motivation to learn Chinese culture is the most funda- mental internal cause. In order to eliminate the phenomenon of "Chinese culture aphasia" in college English teaching, all factors involved, including the society, teachers and students, should make joint efforts. More importantly, medical college students' motivation to learn Chinese culture needs to be inspired and strengthened.
