The Investigation of Li Manzhu and Tongjia River

建州卫第三任大首领李满住于永乐末年由凤州南迁佟佳江后,即与佟佳江结下了生死之缘。在佟佳江,李满住积极密切同朝廷的君臣、君民关系,与朝鲜结盟友好。在此基础上,他统领部众积极发展生产,开垦耕耘,壮大经济实力,推动了女真社会的进步,促进了女真社会的发展,使建州卫势力迅速壮大。李满住奠定了建州卫发展的基础,使建州左卫、建州右卫、毛怜卫等诸部女真向建州卫靠拢,实现了建州女真大集聚,从而为满洲民族共同体的形成扎下了根源。由于建州女真的日渐强大,招致朝鲜李朝的恐慌和不满,调遣重兵,发动战争,三次对李满住进行军事打击,使建州卫遭受重创。然而,李满住并没被吓倒,他率领部民奋起抵抗,英勇拼搏,顽强战斗,充分彰显了女真人的英勇精神。最后,终因寡不敌众,战死疆场,谱写了一首英雄赞歌。

After Li Manzhu, the third leader of Jianzhou guard, moved south from Fengzhou to Tongiia River during the last years of Yongle, he had close relations with Tongjia River. In Tongjia River, Li actively maintained the emperor- people relations and had a friendly alliance with North Korea. On this basis, under the leadership of Li, people actively developed production, reclaimed and cultivated farmlands, expanded the economic strength, which promoted the progress of the Jurchen society and advanced the growing power of Jianzhou guard. Li Manzhu laid the foundation for Jianzhou guard＇s development and made some tribes of Ju- rchen like Jianzhou Left guard, Jianzhou Right guard and Maolian guard approach the Jianzhou guard, which realized the gathering of Jianzhou Jurchen in order to lay a solid foundation for the formation of the ethnic com- munity in Manchuria. The growing mightiness of Jianzhou Jurchen caused panic and dissatisfaction of Korea＇ s Li Dynasty, which dispatched a large number of troops, waged war and used military force against Li Manzhu three times, to cause a severe damage to Jianzhou guard. However, Li wasnt overtaken with terror. He led the tribe to stand and bravely fight, which highlights the Jurchen heroic spirit. Finally, he was outnumbered and killed. Li composed a paean of the hero.
