The article describes the material properties, chemical composition, on site coupon test result, average corrosion rate, comprehensive performance comparison, practical service condition, thickness measuring report issued by relevant authorities, problems detected in service and economic benefits analysis for the new material of C4 steel（00cr14ni14si4） that has been used in fuming nitric acid absorption column.
