Study on the Development of Public Libraries in Guangdong Province during the 12th Five Year Plan Period

"十二五"时期广东不断加大公共图书馆事业投入,全省公共图书馆馆舍面积、文献藏量、数字化水平、服务人次等均有明显提升,但仍然存在人均图书馆数量和人均藏量低、经费总体不足、区域间发展不均衡等问题。建议从加强立法、推动管理体制改革、建立多渠道投入机制、推进总分馆试点、推进数字化建设等方面来促进广东公共图书馆事业的发展。

During the 12th Five Year Plan period, investment in the public libraries of Guangdong province has continuously increased, thus enhancing the building areas, collection, digital level, service capacity, and the like significantly. However, there still exist such issues as low per capita libraries and collections, the overall shortage of funding, imbalance of regional development. The author proposes to promote the public librarianship in Guangdong Province by strengthening legislation, promoting the management system reform, establishing multi- channel investment mechanism,
