Anthropology,Medicine and the Development of Chinese Society: An Interview with Professor Kleinman

哈佛大学凯博文教授以自身的学术研究经历为线索,介绍了人类学与医学的结合、医学人类学的发展、人类学学科在中国和世界大学中的位置等。凯博文教授提及医学人类学对社会的意义和价值,指出当前人类学学科在世界和中国发展的不足之处,并对当下世界大学的走向进行了批判性的反思。最后凯博文教授结合自己的经验,给从事医学人类学研究的年轻学者提出了建议,指出人类学学者应加强合作,扩大在专业外的影响。

Based on his own academic research experiences,Professor Arthur Kleinman of Harvard University introduced the combination of anthropology and medicine in research,the development of medical anthropology,and the disciplinary position of anthropology in universities in China and the rest of the world. Professor Kleinman emphasized the social significance and value of medical anthropology,and pointed out the disciplinary underdevelopment of anthropology in China and the rest of the world. He also critically reflected on the current trends of universities around the world. At the end of the interview, he gave young medical anthropologists the suggestion that anthropologists should strengthen cooperation and extend the disciplinary influence into other fields.
