As a lot of cognitive theories indicate,cognition is based on the schema. Listening ability is an important part of language competence and is regarded as the prerequisite of all cognitive activities. From the perspective of cognition,the process of listening comprehension is an complex interactive psychological process between the schema and the input of information. Schema plays a vital role in listening comprehension. The application of schema theory in English listening comprehension courses can effectively promote students＇ listening competence and help to cultivate their logic thinking ability.
