Rudyard Kipling was famous for using heroic wits to eulogize the British soldiers fighting overseas in his poems such as those collected in Barrack-Room Ballads The Seven Seas. Thus, these poems won him the title of a Trumpeter of the British Empire. However, when we interpret his poems by putting them in the domestic and international background at the time they were written, we can find Kipling's anxieties for the fading Empire and his expectations placed on the new-generation of British colonizers who were born overseas.
