赣中地区(吉安市)赣江淤积,河床抬高,洪涝灾害日趋频繁,表明该区生态环境在加速恶化,并且将会造成更为广泛的生态灾难,其主要原因是占全区80.9%的山地森林植被的全面退化,防护功能下降等。因此要增强生态危机意识,把建立比较完备的林业生态体系作为江西省生态文明建设先行示范区的首要任务。治理措施应从森林资源现状和社会、经济发展水平出发,充分利用本地气候条件优越,乔灌草种类繁多、生长快等特点,实施全面封山。这也是恢复森林植被,提高森林生态效益最经济和有效的办法。该区生态效益低的针叶林面积大,现阶段改造目标是形成针阔混交林,要把灌木阔叶树当做乔木阔叶树同样看待。
