摘要
明清之际耶稣会士制定了"适应"儒家文化的传教政策,他们解读《易经》并竭力从中寻找基督教与儒家学说的契合点。晚清新教传教士继承了"适应"政策,并提出"孔子加耶稣"的传教策略。《易经》麦格基英译本是"适应"政策和"孔子加耶稣"传教策略的产物,译本具有明显的《圣经》色彩。
During the late Ming (1368-1644) and the early Qing (1636-1912) period, Western Jesuits initiated an "Accommo- dation Strategy" in their missionary work, so as to adapt themselves to Confucian culture. They interpreted and translated the Yi ring into Western languages by which they tried their best to discover the consistency between Christianity and Confu- cianism. The Protestants com{ng to China in the late Qing dynasty inherited this policy and further raised the "Confucius plus Jesus" strategy for their missionary activities. The first English translation of the Yi ring by Rev. Canon MeClatchie (1813- 1885) also carried forward the "Accommodation Strategy" and could be viewed as the outcome of "Confucius plus Jesus" policy, which was heavily coated by the ideas from the Holy Bible.
