Hong Mai^s Rong Zhai Essays cited a lot of unique literature, among which there were narrative literature copied from the secret pavilion, the private bibliography literature brought back by his father from the Jin Dynasty and the family collection of poetry masterpiece of the elder generation. These documents either recorded precious historical facts or saved the materials before the Song Dynasty,which due to various reasons were so rarely contacted by others that they have got lost or perished.
