Ecological Thought of Giddens and Its Practical Enlightenment to China

吉登斯以生活政治范式关注人们的日常生活问题,认为生态问题是人们日常生活当中的道德与生存问题,它与人们的价值观念和生活方式的选择密切相关,它的产生是科学技术和理性演变并异化为工具理性所致,因此,要解决生态问题必须"重建环境伦理",即树立环境伦理观、选择符合环境伦理的生活方式和构建相应的环境伦理制度。吉登斯的这种关注和解决生态问题的视阈和方法,对于我国今天如何践行"绿色发展"理念无疑具有一定现实启示,即执政党及其政府要树立生活政治的思维,在全社会倡导并树立环境道德观,逐步引导社会成员选择绿色的生活方式,并在建立保护环境的税收制度的同时,构建与之相配套的旨在维护广大社会基层群体利益的相关制度。

Giddens considered the problems of peopled daily life from the perspective of his paradigm of life politics, holding that ecological problems are moral and survival problems among people’s daily life so that they are closely related to people’s values and the choice of lifestyle and they are the outcome of instrumental rationality which is evolved and alienated from science, technology and rationality. Therefore, to solve the ecological problems, it is necessary to rebuild the environmental ethics, namely setting up the environmental concept of morality, choosing the environmentally friendly way of life, and constructing the corresponding system of environmental ethics. Giddens＇ perspective to consider the ecological problems and his suggestions to solve such problems is undoubtedly significant for our country today to practice the concept of “ green development ”. The ruling party and its government should keep the concept of life politics in mind, advocating and establishing the environmental ethics in the whole society, guiding the social members to choose the green way of life, and setting up supporting systems to safeguard the interests of the general social grassroots while establishing a tax system to protect the environment.
