What is "Environmental Cliff": A Reflection on the Concept in Perspective of Ecological Philosophy

目前学界主要是从修辞层面、现实层面和重构层面对"环境悬崖"概念内涵进行解读。本文立足于生态哲学视角,指出环境悬崖内涵的界定需要坚持周延性、确定性、本质性、人本性等基本原则。探索环境悬崖概念的学术地位需要廓清环境悬崖与环境问题、生态危机、生态文明的关系,同时环境悬崖概念还内蕴正视紧迫环境问题、唤醒公众环境意识、反思发展代价问题、关切健康生存等现实意义。

At present,academia interprets the connotation of ″Environment Cliff″ mainly from the level of rhetoric,reality and reconstruction. By analyzing some related papers,the writer finds out that the definition of ″Environmental Cliff″ need to be adhered to the principles of comprehensiveness,certainty,essence and humanism. To explore the academic status of the concept of cliff environment,we need to clarify the relationship among concepts of environment cliff,environmental issues,ecological crisis,and ecological civilization. At the same time,the concept of environmental cliff also conotates some real significance,such as to pay attention to the pressing environmental issues,to raise public environmental awareness,to reflect the cost of development,to concern on the healthy survival.
