辅国将军是三国时代一个十分重要的将军号。孙吴辅国将军位高权重,仅次于三公;蜀汉辅国将军本身地位不算太高,约与前后左右将军同级,但加"大"后权位可与车骑将军、卫将军等夷;曹魏初期辅国将军地位很高,仅次于车骑将军,而远高于四征四镇、前后左右将军,但并无太大实权,后期地位下降,低于前后左右将军,并为西晋所继承。

General asisting in governing a country was a very important general title during the Three Kingdoms period. They were so powerful that they were next to three ducal ministers in Sun Wu state. While in the kingdom of Shu Han,they were not in the very high position. At the beginning of Cao Wei,they were in the high position,but they did not have much real power. In the later period,they declined in status,whose position were below general of the forward army and its other peers. The Western Jin dynasty inherited the system from the late stage of Cao Wei.
