The Modern Transformation of the Revenge Motif

复仇母题在古今中外文学中不断演绎,其背后有着深刻的、超越民族和文化差异的人类价值取向和心理架构的共通性。从原始的血亲复仇、种族复仇过渡到现代个性复仇、文化复仇,是个体"人"的凸现和文学现代化进程的贡献;从女性复仇的绝望抗争、阶级复仇的政治联盟,再到对暴力复仇与非理性恐惧的终极追问与宗教救赎,则更进一步彰显了现当代作家不断深入的理性批判与审美构建。

The revenge motif in literature has been retold and reinterpreted for centuries in all countries for its profound and transcendent human values and psychological structure shared by different cultures. It has undergone various transformation from the primitive blood revenge, racial revenge to modem individual revenge and cultural revenge, which reflect formation of individual literary modernity; from the desperate struggle of female revenge, the political alliance of class revenge to the ultimate questions of violent revenge and irrational terror as well as to religious salvation which reveal Chinese modem and contemporary writers＇ rational criticism and aesthetic construct.
