Comparison Between Traditional Category and Steven Jones's New Classes of Antonymy

琼斯(2002)通过语料库调查发现了反义关系的八种功能,并根据这些功能把反义关系分为八种类型,对传统分类提出质疑。本研究试图对二者进行比较,探索其不同和相同之处。发现二者都有优势和缺陷,在接下来的研究中,如何更好地数法并用才是需要探索的。

Jones （2002） identified several discourse functions of antonymy through corpus study and classified antonymy into eight classes according to these funetions, thus challenged the traditional categories. This article takes a first step in exploring the differences and similarities of the two, and finds that both of the two have strengths and weaknesses. As a result, only combined methods is what we need to explore in the following research.
