A Study on Development and Utilization of Shannan White Goats

陕南白山羊是陕西省优秀地方良种,研究保护利用这一优秀种质资源,对于提高陕南养羊经济效益有重要的意义。实践表明,建立保种场、划定保护区是保护种质资源的有效途径;开展杂交利用,推广应用先进的适用新技术,实行规模化饲养,是提高养羊经济效益的根本途径;实现生态建设与养羊业协调发展,是陕南养羊业持续健康发展的保证。

Since Shannan white goats belong to the fine breeds in Shaanxi Province, the research on protecting and taking advantage of such excellent breed is economically significant for improving the benefit of goat-raising in the south part of Shaanxi Province. Establishing farms for protospecies of Shannan white goats, as well as designating the dedicated protection areas for Shannan white goats, is the effective way to protect the source of the quality of the excellent goat breeds. The fundamental way to improving the bene- fit of goat-raising lies on the following aspects such as carrying out the use of hybridization technique, pop- ularizing and applying the related advanced appropriate technologies, and the implementation of large-scale feeding. And the continuously healthy development of goat-raising in the southern part of Shaanxi Prov- ince will be guaranteed by the balanced development of ecological improvement and goat-raising.
