渤海区是山东最大的平原抗日根据地,不屈不挠地坚持了以黄河入海口为中心的平原抗日游击战争;是解放战争后期山东三大战略区之一,是我华东战场的重要后方基地,供养了华东局和华东军区40万转移大军。全区有82万人次踊跃支前。渤海区是二十八军、三十三军、四十三军、农二师等英雄部队的诞生地,近20万渤海子弟兵遍布四大野战军,转战南北屡建奇功。

The Bohai Old Revolutionary Base centered on Binzhou was the largest anti-Japanese plain base in Shandong led by the Communist Party of China during the revolutionary war,one of the three strategic regions in Shandong in the late period of the War of Liberation,and a significant rear base of the East China Battlefield,and supported an army of 400,000 soldiers in the East China Bureau and the East China Military Area.Bohai area is the birthplace of such heroic troops as the Twenty-eighth Army,the Thirty-third Army,the Forty-third Army and Second Division for Agricultural Construction.Nearly 200,000 soldiers from Bohai were in the four field armies.Over 6,000 cadres followed the troops to march south to take over the New Liberation Area.The Bohai area cultivated and developed over 380 leading cadres above provincial and military levels,and they became the backbone force of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
