美国作家约翰·斯坦贝克的现实主义小说《愤怒的葡萄》通过对经济大萧条时期乔德一家苦难生活的描述,真实再现了美国20世纪30年代社会的动荡和底层人民的挣扎,本文结合新历史主义理论研究,分析小说《愤怒的葡萄》在当时美国社会的历史意义,以及在历史建构过程中小说塑造的典型人物形象。
The realistic novel,The Grapes of Wrath by American writer John Steinbeck reflected the social unrest and the struggling of ordinary people in 1930 s in America through the description of the suffering life of the Joad family in Great Depression.This paper is to analyze the historical significance of the novel,and the typical characters in the historical construction on the basis of the theories of the New Historicism.
