This paper focuses on a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences of animal metaphors between English and Chinese language. By making a research into the similarities and differences of animal metaphor between English and Chinese language, the paper attempts to comb the concept and theoretical analysis of the similarities and differences of animal metaphors for the reference of later researches and tries to help people to further understand English and Chinese cultures and overcome the obstacles of inter-cultural communication between English and Chinese language to promote cultural understanding and communication.
